About the Company
Our client is an established Australian business that has been operating for over 70 years with a long history of working with leading FMCG brands across multiple sectors such as food, personal care, beverages, hardware, pharmaceuticals, and health and wellbeing. They specialise in innovative packaging solutions and have partnerships with international suppliers. They are looking to increase their expertise in the Australian quality team, within their newly acquired facility in Penrith.
About the Role
Reporting through to the Quality Manager and being part of an established team, you will be focused on supporting the quality and production departments with document control support, customer complaints, validation of new products and processes, NCR’s, preparing the quality plan and working with suppliers to deliver materials of a high-quality standard, within specification and meeting ISO 9001 standards. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the QMS, including all accreditation activities. You will anticipate in and conduct audits, execute the CAPA process and complete root cause analysis to ensure product performance and reliability. There will be many cross functional projects, and you will be integral to improving quality processes.
Skills and Experience
Ideally, you will be a mechanical engineer or from a science related field who loves problem solving and has that process improvement mindset. You will need quality assurance experience, at least 3 years within a manufacturing environment or industrial setting and have a solid understanding of ISO9001 and managing the QMS. Any experience with injection moulding would be highly regarded. You will have a Laboratory Technician reporting through to you, so experience with VMS or CMM would be ideal. The successful candidate needs to be able to relate to a diverse range of people, maintain close communication with engineering and manufacturing to ensure supply and quality of materials, and work alongside NPD and Commercial teams regarding new product launches. Experience auditing suppliers would be highly regarded. Collaboration, enthusiasm and being self-directed is important, and the ability to multitask and meet key milestones, is essential.
