Hellyers Road Distillery was founded in the late 1990s by a group of dairy farmers and whisky aficionado and is one of Australia's most renowned single malt whisky producers. With a breadth of distribution here in Australia, they have a growing export market with the brand expanding its distribution footprint in China, Taiwan and Japan as well as Europe and the United States. With a committed Board and newly appointed General Manager, the organisation recognises there is great opportunity to bring an experienced and highly commercial operator help grow revenue, drive sales, open up new markets and re-invigorate the brand.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, this newly created & hybrid role will take the lead in the management of both national retail & export customers, which will involve the development of the longer-term business strategy. This role is being bought in to revamp their sales strategy by delivering best practice planning, where you will manage all customer initiatives including new business and route-to-market strategies. An additional component to the role is the input into the market strategy, including brand building within trade, media and international events.
Skill & experience
Success in this role will come from on / off premise customer management experience within the FMCG industry, ideally within the liquor category - whiskey being advantageous. An additional requirement of this role is experience in brand building, where you will have had strong commercial influence to drive wider growth. Your financial acumen and ability to work in a fast paced environment will be of the highest level, and a genuine passion for the industry is a no brainer!
