About The Client
We’re proud to partner with a fast-growing producer of high-quality, fresh sandwiches, wraps and ready-to-eat meals. Our client is committed to delivering delicious, safe and convenient food solutions to cafés, retailers and foodservice operators. Their culture is built on teamwork, innovation and a genuine passion for fresh food.

About The Role
We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to own end-to-end site operations. You’ll lead a team of supervisors and 100+ production staff across two shifts and a clean-down window, ensuring safety, quality and output targets are consistently met. You’ll be the strategic driver of continuous improvement initiatives, liaise with QA, Maintenance and Senior Leadership, and ensure the site runs efficiently seven days a week (with a Saturday shutdown and Sunday restart).

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide visible leadership across early, day and clean-down shifts—coach Supervisors on performance, attendance and compliance
  • Own production planning and labour rostering to meet daily volume and customer-deadline KPIs
  • Champion Food Safety & Quality: enforce HACCP, GMP and daily QA/GMP checks; report and close out non-conformances
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (5S/Lean): identify bottlenecks, lead CI projects and embed best practices across teams
  • Manage resource budgets: track labour cost, waste-per-unit and collaborate on procurement/maintenance priorities
  • Oversee ERP and reporting systems (NetSuite/Excel): generate shift-reports, KPI dashboards and recovery plans
  • Facilitate daily production meetings and regular toolbox talks to align on safety, quality and improvement goals
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (QA, Engineering, Planning, Dispatch) to introduce new products, layout changes or equipment upgrades
About You
  • Proven Production Manager or Operations leadership experience (food/FMCG manufacturing, multi-shift environment)
  • Hands-on, strategic thinker with exceptional people-management skills—able to coach Supervisors and engage 100+ staff
  • Deep understanding of HACCP, GMP and WHS frameworks; track record of audit readiness (WQA/MPI or equivalent)
  • Strong Continuous Improvement background (5S, Lean, CI projects) and ability to drive change through data
  • Comfortable with ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel for reporting and analysis
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative style and a passion for developing high-performing teams
