The Company
We’re working with one of Australia’s most recognisable names in the industrial services space. With a national footprint and a strong reputation for safety, operational excellence and delivery, this business plays a critical role in supporting large-scale infrastructure and commercial projects across the country. With increased activity across the business, there is an immediate need for an experienced Procurement Category Manager to step in and support the operational side of the business.
The Role
This is a 6-month contract opportunity focused squarely on managing operational (OpEx) spend. Reporting to the Group Manager – Procurement and leading one direct report, this is a tactical, delivery-focused role where you'll be responsible for day-to-day sourcing, commercial negotiations, contract renewals and supplier performance across a broad range of indirect and operational categories. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders across operations, legal, deployment and finance, ensuring procurement activity remains compliant, cost-effective and aligned with business needs. It’s a fast-paced role where your ability to juggle priorities and keep things moving will be highly valued.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking to speak with experienced procurement professionals with a solid background in operational or indirect spend. You’ve likely worked in large, complex organisations—possibly in industrials, services, utilities or infrastructure—and you’re comfortable managing multiple workstreams while engaging stakeholders at all levels. You know how to get things done, maintain supplier relationships and keep commercial activity running smoothly. Strong sourcing and negotiation skills are a must, along with a hands-on approach and a willingness to roll up your sleeves. Experience with ERP systems and a good grasp of governance and compliance processes will also set you up for success.
Six Degrees Executive acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and live. We are also committed to equal opportunity and strive to promote diversity, inclusion, belonging, flexibility, and accessibility in all that we do.
Should you require assistance in your interactions with us or through a recruitment process, please let us know so we can provide adjustments for you.
