About our Client

Our client is an Australian FMCG manufacturer with a complex national production and distribution network. They are based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne and have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced supply chain professional to head up their site-based logistics function in the capacity Logistics Operations Manager.

About the Opportunity

Reporting through to the Supply Chain Manager and leading a team of three direct reports + indirect, the Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for managing site-based warehousing and transport performance, the latter through a range of 3PL partners, to optimise customer service levels and drive down cost to serve. Specific accountability includes:

Duties
  • Leading a small warehousing function responsibile for receipting of goods, storage, pick & pack and loading in a 'safety first' environment
  • Managing the performance of 3rd party trasnport partners by recommending optimal transport modes, routes and equipment.
  • Partnering with the supply chain planning team to optimise stock movements and holdings across a multi-site distribution network.
  • Lead and participate in cross functional strategic supply chain projects and initiatives.

Skills & Experience
  • Functional warehousing and transport leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and improving the performance of 3PL partners.
  • Proven people leadership experience within warehousing, transport and/or inventory management functions.
