Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll lead and develop a growing Automation Service & Installation team, managing a mix of engineers and tradespeople across Australia. You'll oversee multiple equipment installations at any one time, ranging from short-term projects to complex, months-long installs, ensuring they're delivered safely, on time, and within budget. A large part of your focus will be on customer engagement – understanding their needs, managing expectations, and resolving challenges calmly and effectively. You'll scope and cost projects, coordinate delivery, commissioning, and customer handovers, including training and safety briefings. Internally, you'll work closely with sales, engineering, and operations to keep everyone aligned and proactively manage any risks or issues. The role also involves managing third-party contractors (electrical, mechanical, rigging), driving continuous improvement of installation and service processes, and building a proactive maintenance and service model. Safety leadership is critical, ensuring risk assessments, safe work practices and compliance are embedded in every project.

Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong background in automation, industrial machinery installation, or heavy equipment servicing.
- Hands-on leadership experience managing engineers and tradespeople across multiple locations.
- Confident leading both blue- and white-collar teams, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experienced working directly with customers on large capital equipment installations.
- Skilled in project management, problem-solving, and balancing competing priorities.
- Clear communicator, able to manage challenging conversations and align internal/external stakeholders.
- Flexibility for regular interstate travel and occasional international trips.
