Our client is a reputable wholesale business based in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, who are looking for immediate support within their accounts support team.

About the role

This position is a 12 month full-time fixed term contract role working 4 days out of their office in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne and 1 day working from home. The primary responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Officer is the management of debtor accounts. This role encompasses day-to-day accounts receivable duties, selected accounts payable (AP) activities, and other ad hoc tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managed end-to-end accounts receivable, including reclaims via a major retailer’s platform and ERP system, customer reconciliations, and processing store credits across multiple entities.
  • Handled daily banking tasks such as reconciling debtor accounts, credit card and travel invoices, fuel and Etag transactions, and supporting bank reconciliations.
  • Processed product returns and store credits in line with company procedures, with regular follow-up with sales reps where needed.
  • Supported accounts payable functions, including raising POs, filing documentation, and assisting with expense and cost analysis.
  • Provided general administrative support, such as ordering supplies and handling ad hoc duties as directed by management.
  • Supervised and trained a part-time team member, ensuring consistency and accuracy across tasks.
About you
  • 6–8 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable, with a solid grasp of end-to-end AR processes.
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative finance team.
  • Strong ERP skills, with exposure to Microsoft Navision or Dynamics 365 Business Central a bonus.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when handling large volumes of transactions.
  • Comfortable challenging existing processes and suggesting practical improvements.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal teams and external customers.
