About the Role

As Commercial Specification Manager, you’ll be the bridge between cutting-edge glass products and the projects that need them. You’ll work closely with architects and specifiers to get our clients products locked into commercial designs, while keeping a keen eye on cost and profit margins. This isn’t just about selling—it’s about building trust, spotting opportunities, and shaping projects from concept to completion. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, supportive culture where we back each other, keep things positive, and stay focused on the national plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with architects, specifiers, and key stakeholders to secure product specifications.
  • Present with confidence—whether it’s a CPD, a technical pitch, or a client event.
  • Use BCI & Estimate One to create and maintain a healthy pipeline of commercial projects.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to turn opportunities into orders while safeguarding margins.
  • Provide technical advice and coordinate product samples to ensure we’re top-of-mind for every project.
  • Keep meticulous records in our CRM and contribute market insights to monthly sales meetings.
  • Support internal teams with product knowledge, training, and market updates.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record in architectural specification, business development, or technical sales within the building industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen—you’re not just about winning the work, but making sure it’s profitable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience with CRM systems, data management tools, and MS Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
  • Proactive, positive, and solutions-focused with a “let’s make it happen” mindset.
  • A natural collaborator who values accountability, supports the team, and keeps their eye on the bigger picture.
