Six Degrees is excited to be partnering with a large Queensland Government department on a unique opportunity for an AO8 Social Outcomes & Local Benefits Lead Advisor. This role will lead the design and delivery of social outcomes and local benefit initiatives within a major program, ensuring lasting community impact through targeted workforce, supplier and industry participation.
The opportunityReporting into program leadership, you will:
  • Lead the social outcomes agenda across a major program—setting targets, defining measures of success and ensuring benefits are embedded from planning through delivery.
  • Integrate social outcomes into procurement and contracts, including scopes, KPIs and reporting requirements for suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Build and manage stakeholder partnerships (internal teams, delivery partners, community, industry) to drive Indigenous participation, apprenticeships/traineeships, local supplier engagement and other community benefit outcomes.
  • Own benefits tracking and reporting—develop frameworks, templates and dashboards; prepare high-quality updates for executives and governance forums.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, provide pragmatic advice, and drive continuous improvement across policies, toolkits and assurance activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional working groups to align delivery, remove blockers and showcase outcomes.
We’re keen to hear from candidates who bring most of the following:
  • Proven experience delivering social outcomes/local benefits/social procurement for infrastructure, major programs or government (or consulting with relevant project exposure).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills with the ability to influence across complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to operationalise strategy—embedding targets, KPIs and reporting into delivery and supplier contracts.
  • Confidence with benefits measurement and data (dashboards, metrics, evidence packs), and drafting clear executive-level papers/briefings.
  • Familiarity with government procurement and assurance frameworks (Queensland or other jurisdictions).
