Our client is a specialist in providing contract or on-hire staffing solutions across various sectors, including healthcare, industrial, horticulture, construction, transport logistics and mining. They are looking for immediate support within their finance team due to an increased workload.
About the Role
This position is a full time 3-month contract role (with opportunity to be made permanent) based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne and have a flexible working model (3 Days a week in the office).
Key Responsibilities:
This role covers end to end weekly payroll for a network of franchisees, keeping everything accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. It also works closely with franchise owners to resolve payroll queries, manages PAYG, super, payroll tax, GST and WorkCover lodgements, and supports the wider AR and AP functions by reconciling payroll with billing, checking invoices against contract terms, and assisting with payment or receipting queries. Strong record keeping across payroll, invoicing, and supplier payments is key, along with a willingness to streamline processes and improve how the broader finance function operates.
About you
The ideal candidate brings at least two to three years’ payroll experience, solid ERP exposure, and a confident grasp of modern awards. They’ll have strong attention to detail, a steady level of accuracy, and the kind of curiosity that leads them to dig into problems rather than skirt around them. Good communication matters, both written and verbal, along with the ability to juggle deadlines in a busy environment without dropping the ball. Experience supporting AP and AR processes is a real advantage, especially around reconciliations and invoice checks. They’ll be comfortable working as part of a close team and have intermediate skills in Word and Excel.
