About the Company
Our client is a large, Australian-based manufacturing organisation with a multi-site footprint and a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer delivery. The business supports a complex workforce across both salaried and waged employees and is investing heavily in systems and process improvement. This is a values-led environment where payroll plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence and business continuity.

About the Role

This role will initially be a 3-month contract with the view to be made permanent, based out of their offices in the southwestern suburbs of Sydney.

Key responsibilities:

This is a Payroll Supervisor role within a large, multi-site manufacturing environment, responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across a complex workforce. The position sits within HR and works closely with Finance, IT, and external partners to ensure payroll operations run smoothly and compliantly. A key focus of the role is providing leadership and governance through an ongoing SAP payroll implementation. While payroll processing is largely established, there is a strong emphasis on process refinement, particularly around terminations, system controls, and user acceptance testing. The role also involves managing an offshore payroll resource and acting as the escalation point for complex payroll matters. This position will suit an experienced payroll professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and improving how things work, rather than purely running payroll cycles.

About You

You’re a senior payroll professional with experience in complex, multi-site, award-heavy environments, ideally with SAP payroll exposure. You enjoy leading and developing teams, streamlining processes, and taking ownership of systems rather than just processing payroll. Confident navigating complexity and engaging with multiple stakeholders, you’re motivated by the chance to stabilise and optimise payroll during a transformation, with a clear pathway to broader HRIS responsibilities.
