A leading FMCG business is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations at a large and complex manufacturing facility in central western suburbs of Melbourne. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, developing high-performing teams and embedding a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
This opportunity will suit a strong operational leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoys improving systems, processes and people capability to deliver best-in-class results.

Reporting to the Site Director you will take ownership of day-to-day manufacturing operations, leading a large production team and working closely with engineering, maintenance, quality and supply chain to ensure the site consistently delivers on safety, quality and production targets.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing a large production team, including frontline leaders and supervisors
  • Driving a strong safety-first culture across all manufacturing operations
  • Optimising plant performance through data analysis, process improvement and operational discipline
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, yield and productivity
  • Standardising and embedding operating procedures to build workforce capability and consistency
  • Partnering cross-functionally with engineering, quality and supply chain teams to resolve operational challenges
  • Supporting capital projects and operational improvement initiatives across the facility
  • Ensuring production plans are delivered to meet customer demand and operational targets
About You
You are a hands-on and engaging manufacturing leader who knows how to balance operational performance with strong people leadership.
You will bring:
  • 7+ years' experience at the production or site leadership level within FMCG or chemical manufacturing environments
  • Experience in managing site budgets and financial accumen
  • Strong exposure to lean manufacturing, operational excellence or continuous improvement frameworks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science or a related discipline (preferred but not essential)
