Six Degrees is partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced AO7 Procurement Officer for a temporary contract opportunity.

This role will suit a procurement professional with strong experience across strategic procurement, contract management, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Working within a fast-paced project environment, you will provide expert advice, support procurement planning and delivery, and help ensure procurement activities are aligned with broader organisational and government objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing strategic procurement activities from planning through to contract management
  • Providing advice on procurement processes, specifications, evaluation, governance, and administration
  • Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies, frameworks, and plans
  • Managing supplier relationships and acting as a key point of contact on contract matters
  • Monitoring contract performance, compliance, and reporting requirements
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and recommend suitable procurement solutions
  • Contributing to procurement capability uplift across the broader team
To be successful, you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management
  • Strong understanding of governance, probity, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisational skills and sound commercial acumen
  • The ability to work both strategically and operationally in a government or similarly complex environment
Highly regarded:
  • Procurement-related qualifications
  • Experience working within Queensland Government procurement frameworks
  • Exposure to ICT or complex procurement environments
