About the Opportunity

An exciting contract opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join a dynamic Corporate Services procurement team within a Queensland Government agency based in Kedron. This is a 6 month contract with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

This is a hands on, high impact role with a strong ICT procurement focus. You will play a key part in supporting an active ICT transition project while also managing procurement activities across general government services and fleet and equipment streams.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement and Contract Management, you will be responsible for managing end to end procurement processes across a variety of categories with a medium to high level of value, risk and complexity. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing tender processes including EOIs, RFQs and Invitations to Offer
  • Developing and reviewing tender documentation including QITC contracting conditions
  • Conducting supplier evaluation, negotiation and selection processes
  • Managing contracts and associated arrangements including variations, performance monitoring and dispute resolution
  • Providing high level procurement advice to clients, senior management and suppliers
  • Supporting and mentoring junior procurement team members
  • Contributing to the development of procurement policies, procedures and training
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:
  • Demonstrated government procurement and contract management experience, ideally with an ICT procurement focus
  • Familiarity with QITC contracting frameworks and whole of government procurement requirements
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of concurrent procurement activities independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
  • A proactive, client focused approach with the ability to work effectively across a multi disciplined team
Whilst not mandatory, a qualification or formal training in procurement, contract management, law or business management will be highly regarded.
