Chief Operating Officer
Eniquest designs and manufactures premium diesel generator systems from its purpose-built facility on the Sunshine Coast. Every product is Australian made, built to exacting specifications by a team of circa 29 staff, and sold to defence and commercial markets that demand high performance and consistent reliability. The business is the only commercial manufacturer of DC alternators in Australia and holds a significant contract with the Australian Defence Force; it’s largest to date, currently at the halfway point of delivery.
Reporting to the Founder, the Chief Operating Officer will take ownership of daily operations and commercial growth across the entire business. With six direct reports covering engineering, production, finance, administration, commercial support, and project delivery, this is a hands-on executive role with genuine P&L accountability.
As the Chief Operating Officer, your primary mandate will be to build the commercial pipeline, continue to establish strategic partnerships, develop international defence pathways, and drive operational and team performance through KPIs and continuous improvement. This role demands presence, urgency, and the willingness to work the way a founder works.
You will bring at least ten years of senior operational and/or commercial leadership, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or a related sector. You have built things; pipelines, teams and/or systems in lean, hands-on environments where you were accountable for real outcomes. You understand how to sell a premium product, manage a P&L, and oversee professionals who take pride in what they make. You hold a relevant degree in business, management, engineering or equivalent professional experience. Defence sector experience is desirable but not essential.
