Six Degrees is excited to be partnering with a large QLD Government Department in the recruitment of a Program Scheduler to support project and program delivery across construction, maintenance and response works. Reporting to the Director, this position supports the Delivery teams to ensure projects and programs are scheduled appropriately, with efficient and effective resource allocation to achieve resource utilisation targets, a forward pipeline of works, and apprentice training outcomes.

Some hybrid flexibility (up to 4 days per fortnight) is available after an initial 3-month onsite period.

As the Program Scheduler, you will:
  • Utilise contemporary scheduling systems to develop, review and administer schedules coordinating the construction and delivery of multiple projects and programs, including current and future pipeline works, in line with critical resourcing and time constraints.
  • Collaborate with Apprentice Supervisors, the Apprenticeship team and other stakeholders to schedule apprentices to appropriate projects and maintenance tasks, ensuring training competencies are achieved.
  • Develop detailed schedules supporting program delivery in collaboration with delivery teams.
  • Develop and maintain a project/program status dashboard providing detailed and accurate reporting on construction programs and resource utilisation.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive consistency in scheduling approach and support accuracy in project execution and reporting.
  • Consult and coordinate with Delivery teams and other stakeholders to develop and regularly update detailed schedules, resolving resourcing issues and escalating where required.
Selection Criteria:
  • Mandatory: Microsoft Project Professional experience — this client's scheduling workflows are specific to MS Project, and candidates with experience limited to other systems have not been successful in this environment previously.
  • Highly desirable: ability to interpret detailed and complex information from multiple sources to develop schedules; experience in construction scheduling and delivering projects using construction management methodologies; relevant project or construction management experience; advanced data processing and manipulation skills; strong interpersonal skills.
