At Six Degrees we love being immersed in the industries and functions we recruit in, and we really love building niche networks to support thought leadership in those key areas. Six Degrees hosted a Digital Thought Leadership event in partnership with the fabulous Publicis.Sapient.
The aim was to bring together a small group of thought leaders in the digital space and share insights on the topic - “what’s not going to change in the next 10 years”.
The inspiration for this came from Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos.
“I very frequently get the question: 'What's going to change in the next 10 years?' And that is a very interesting question; it's a very common one. I almost never get the question: 'What's not going to change in the next 10 years?'
The evening started with a presentation by Lead Strategist for Publicis.Spaient, Jake Hird. Jake took us through a thoroughly insightful presentation with some real key take outs.
- The customer comes first, not the technology.
- Businesses need to invest in change.
- What customers want hasn’t changed in many years, and will continue to stay the same.
Following that, we threw the questions out to the room and were delighted by the sharing of information that came from everyone in the room.
We had insights from Digital Leaders at Moet Hennessy, Aussie, Naked Wines, APG & Co and Suncorp (to name a few). Everybody was keen to share what they felt would not change within their own business, and how this relates to their customers.
Immediate feedback from the evening was fantastic, and all attendees cited how great it was to have a voice and be able to hear challenges that other businesses and teams are facing. We will be using the content from the event to form a content series and really bring to life the theme 'What's going to change in the next 10 years?'. Watch this space!
"A great event, with some heated debate and conversation from some exceptionally smart marketers. It's unusual for a recruitment agency to play the role of facilitator to such informative, interesting discussions, but I'd say you guys hit the mark." Jake Hird, Lead Strategist, Publicis Sapient
