Six Degrees are partnering exclusively with Brickworks in recruiting their critical Plant Manager role for their Bristile Roofing division. Brickworks are one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of quality building products and market leaders in their space.

An opportunity has presented within Brickworks Bristile Roofing division to lead their key operation in Dandenong South.

As the Plant Manager you have the ability to think strategically and make smart business decisions while also leading the day to day operations of the site. You are an enabler of growth and cost efficiency.
 
Primary Responsibilities

Strategy & Development 
  • Lead the creation and implementation of best practice operations vision, strategies, processes, policies & procedures to improve overall operations performance.
  • Be the key driver for Continuous Improvement processes onsite; Lead and sponsor the continuous improvement culture across the site.
Production Management
  • Manage all areas of plant production to deliver products that meet the quality, cost, volume and service criteria.
  • Increase production, assets capacity while minimising waste
  • Oversee the production Shift Supervisors and facilitate, educate, coach, and guide them to ensure that they have the skills and necessary resources to deliver results and achieve their objectives.
 Maintenance
  • Oversee all maintenance and specific capital engineering activities onsite.
  • Develops production and preventative maintenance schedules, raw material requirements, systems infrastructure and inventory levels.
Quality
  • Responsible for setting and ensuring all quality standards are met according to Brickworks standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality products are accurately manufactured to grade and specifications.
Safety:
  • Ensure the safety of all Brickworks employees onsite, committing to and setting standards on work safe procedures and lead work safe behaviours.
  • Responsible for ensuring SHEM management systems, procedures & controls are complied to across the site.
Leadership:
  • Add capability to the senior management team influencing and providing direction across operations and manufacturing.
  • Lead in a proactive way to achieve optimal results across the site with the ability to engage across all levels onsite.
Financial & Budget Control:
  • Plan and prepare all operations budget and forecasts. Responsible for achieving budget and forecast.

What will you need to be successful?
  • Experience in similar site leadership roles within the Industrial Manufacturing space or related industries.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years experience at the Site Management level.
  • Proactive leader with the ability to achieve results quickly and influence the team.
  • Ability to think strategically & innovatively across operations.
