About the business 

Opportunity to join a well established food manufacturer that prides itself on producing high-quality product and supplying through multiple channels Australia-wide. Off the back of significant increase in demand and a site-wide commitment to safety, a newly created role owning Safety and Return to Work has been created, reporting into Operations leadership. This role is based in Melbourne's northern suburbs. 

About the role 
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll take the lead on safety initiatives and return to work processes across their manufacturing footprint. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about early intervention, injury management and continuous improvement in workplace health and safety. Key responsibilities will include: 
  • Championing a strong safety and RTW culture across the business
  • Leading the injury management process for both work and non-work-related cases
  • Coordinating incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential risks
  • Deliver internal OH&S training and monthly safety reporting

What we are looking for: 

  • Tertiary qualification in OH&S or related field 
  • 2 years of experience in a high risk environment, such as manufacturing/supply chain
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Existing exposure to injury management/RTW desirable, yet the business will also facilitate training in this space if you're less exposed to this facet of safety.
