AO7 Senior Project Manager (SEQ)
$87 per hour + Super (38 hours per week, PAYG)
Chermside office, Brisbane Northside
Monday 8th September 2025 to Friday 5th December 2025 (Possible Extension)
Six Degrees is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a government department based in Chermside, Brisbane. In this key leadership role within the SEQ Capital Works team, you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of building construction and upgrade projects, ensuring quality, compliance, stakeholder satisfaction and value for money.
You will lead the procurement and management of both consultants and contractors, oversee project lifecycle activities, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high safety and quality standards.
This role requires a strong client-side construction background, with demonstrated ability in complex project delivery, stakeholder management and government reporting. Experience with Australian Standards, contract law and superintendent responsibilities is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project management plans and delivery strategies
- Lead procurement of consultants and contractors, including preparation of briefs and tender documentation
- Oversee design, contract administration, commissioning and defect liability management
- Prepare project reports, fee proposals and ensure project profitability
- Ensure compliance with legislative, procurement and WHS standards
- Maintain auditable records and project systems
- Identify efficiencies and drive improvements in systems and processes
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing building construction and upgrade projects (client-side)
- Relevant qualifications in construction or project management
- Strong understanding of contract administration and superintendent duties
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, reporting and team leadership
- Knowledge of project lifecycle, statutory compliance and value management
