Role Overview:
We’re seeking a Business Development Manager/Account Manager to join the team, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of major customers. The role will focus on strengthening existing partnerships while driving new business opportunities across key markets. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders in sales, commercial, and customer service to deliver on revenue growth and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain relationships with major customers, ensuring service excellence and account growth
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within target markets
- Develop detailed sales plans for key prospects to achieve revenue and margin targets
- Lead the end-to-end sales process from prospecting and proposal through to negotiation, onboarding, and handover
- Maximise customer spend by promoting the full range of products and services
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide regular performance updates and reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and senior management to deliver customer solutions
- Gather market insights and competitor intelligence to shape commercial proposals
- Ensure CRM accuracy, sales compliance, and timely reporting
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven experience managing key or major accounts, ideally within logistics, transport, or industrial sectors
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities
- Confident communicator with solid negotiation and relationship management skills
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and accountable for results
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven reporting
