About the Company
This business is a long-standing and leading global chemicals manufacturer with a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand. The company emphasises innovation and sustainability—focusing on energy efficiency, renewable materials, and low-emission products—while positioning itself as a technical partner driving responsible transformation. They are looking for a EHS Coordinator to come on board to lead EHS performance at the manufacturing facility for an initial contract with potential to go permanent.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior OHS Manager for ANZ, you will be responsible for managing and improving site EHS performance while ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including EPA, Workplace Health and Safety, and Trade Waste requirements.This is a hands-on role where you’ll work collaboratively with site leadership, operations teams, and the regional EHS function to embed best practices, strengthen safety culture, and lead key improvement initiatives.
This role requires someone who is a proactive "do-er" with excellent communication and initiative and is site based 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage compliance with all site environmental, health, and safety regulations and reporting requirements.
- Lead the EHS recordkeeping process and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response programs.
- Support the implementation of PSM programs, including Management of Change, Event Investigations, and Permit to Work systems.
- Facilitate and participate in risk assessments (JSERA, HAZOPs) and site audits (SMS, 5S, housekeeping, and safety analysis).
- Partner with site and regional teams to lead corrective and preventive actions from audits and incidents.
- Deliver EHS training, awareness, and cultural improvement initiatives.
- Manage SAP compliance approvals and ensure accurate tracking through Gensuite and related systems.
- Champion EHS continuous improvement projects aligned to company and regional goals.
You’re an experienced EHS professional with a background in manufacturing, chemicals, or heavy industry, and have a strong understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks. You enjoy working closely with operational teams to translate compliance into practical, everyday safety practices.
- EHS/OHS experience in a Major Hazard Facility or an industrial manufacturing site essential.
- Demonstrated experience in EHS compliance and systems management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to lead investigations, audits, and improvement programs with confidence and credibility.
