Six Degrees Executive is proud to be partnering with a growing Australian FMCG business with operations based in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. This is a values-led food manufacturer investing in its people, systems, and site capability as it enters its next phase of growth.

As part of this journey, the business has created a new Head of Operations role to lead their single-site manufacturing operation and set it up for long-term success.

The Opportunity The Head of Operations will take full accountability for site performance, providing hands-on leadership while building the foundations required to scale sustainably.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading end-to-end site operations across production, safety, quality and CI. 
  • Embedding a strong continuous improvement mindset, lifting performance through better systems, processes, and ways of working.
  • Driving safety and quality standards across the site, ensuring compliance and building genuine ownership at all levels.
  • Improving overall production performance, reliability, and consistency.
  • Engaging and developing the workforce, including establishing clear training structures and capability pathways.
  • Partnering closely with the leadership team to translate growth plans into practical operational execution.

Skills & Expertise Required:
We’re looking for a practical, people-focused operations leader who can think strategically while staying close to the floor:
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Site Manager or Operations Manager within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience improving systems, processes, and site capability in a growing operation.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to step back and think longer term.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage, influence, and develop teams.
