We are appointing a General Manager, Marketing to lead marketing as a commercial growth engine across a complex, high-performing portfolio. The General Manager, Marketing is the senior operational leader accountable for AVC’s integrated marketing and experience growth engine. Leading a team of approximately 40 through five direct reports, the role combines commercially disciplined omnichannel marketing execution with distinctive, experience-led growth, setting AVC apart through relevance, entertainment and engagement rather than price or discounting.

The opportunity
Reporting to the CMO, this role sits at the intersection of brand, trading and experience. You will be accountable for shaping and executing a marketing strategy that delivers measurable commercial impact across a diverse house of brands, while enabling local relevance at venue level.
Key accountabilities
- Lead and govern a large, multi-format house of brands, balancing central brand direction with local execution.
- Drive experience-led growth through events, entertainment and programming that increase footfall, frequency and engagement at scale.
- Own omnichannel demand generation across physical and digital channels, including performance marketing, CRM and lifecycle communications.
- Partner with the loyalty team to accelerate member acquisition, engagement and value.
- Translate customer insight and data into clear investment priorities that lift conversion, yield and return.
- Establish clear operating models, planning rhythms and trading cadences across marketing, operations and finance.
- Act as a senior commercial partner to the executive team and board, presenting clear, commercially grounded narratives.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing marketing leadership team in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- A senior marketing leader who has operated at scale and is comfortable owning commercial outcomes, not just campaigns.
- Experience leading a house of brands or large, complex portfolio with significant variation in revenue, customer segments and formats.
- A strong track record of using experiences, events and live programming as a core growth lever.
- Deep omnichannel capability across performance marketing, CRM, digital and physical environments.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex, matrixed organisations, including executive and board-level engagement.
- Commercial leadership experience in large organisations, typically $700m+ revenue, with significant A&P investment.
- Confidence operating in environments with performance variance across distributed portfolios, requiring sharp prioritisation and judgement.
- Hospitality experience is highly regarded, as is background in FMCG such as liquor or other high-frequency, multi-site retail environments.
