Six Degrees is recruiting on behalf of a Queensland Government client who is piloting a new Regional Housing Coordination Program to strengthen the management of subsidised staff accommodation across regional Queensland. In this role, you will provide dedicated property management expertise to support local sites and Accommodation Committees in delivering safe, compliant and effective housing services for employees.

This position offers a genuine opportunity to make a practical difference in regional communities by reducing administrative burden on local leaders, improving compliance with tenancy legislation, and ensuring housing services support broader workforce attraction and retention objectives.
You will work regionally as part of a small, collaborative team, acting as the critical link between locally managed housing activities and central infrastructure functions.

Key highlights:
  • Property and tenancy management across a regional portfolio
  • Coordination of maintenance and capital works with contractors
  • Compliance with tenancy legislation and housing policies
  • Close collaboration with local stakeholders and central infrastructure teams
Ideal for candidates with backgrounds in property management, infrastructure services, facilities, housing or asset management, particularly within government or large organisations.

In this role, you will:
  • Support tenancy and leasing functions by coordinating inspections, managing complex property matters, and providing specialist advice to local sites and Accommodation Committees.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs by liaising with QBuild and external contractors, escalating issues where required and ensuring timely resolution of housing concerns.
  • Strengthen compliance by consistently applying tenancy legislation, organisational policies and procedures across your regional portfolio.
  • Contribute to system implementation by supporting the roll-out of the Employee Housing System (EHS), ensuring accurate data entry and embedding new processes into local practice.
  • Provide high-quality advice to regional leaders and central infrastructure teams, supporting informed and transparent housing management decisions.
  • Build strong working relationships with local managers, committee members, industrial representatives and regional stakeholders to promote consistent and sustainable housing practices.
  • Reduce workload pressures for site-based staff by undertaking administrative and operational housing tasks, enabling them to focus on their core service delivery responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate public sector values through accountability, professionalism and a strong commitment to service delivery in regional communities.
