SAP Basis Lead  - The Opportunity: Shape the Future of a Major SAP Ecosystem.

Are you a seasoned SAP Basis expert who has moved beyond the "doing" and into the "driving"? We are seeking a proactive Product Lead for a high-impact, 6-month contract to take the reins of a complex SAP landscape during a critical vendor transition.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit back and watch tickets fly by. You will be the technical "brain" and the primary gatekeeper, ensuring our external partners deliver to the highest standard.

Your Mission
You will report to the Technical Products Manager who is amazing  and own the end-to-end lifecycle of the SAP Basis platform. You are here to managing SLAs, KPIs, and operational performance while identifying gaps in the current process.
  • Vendor Orchestration: Manage the performance of external partners, ensuring they meet defined product outcomes and security postures.
  • Process Engineering: Look at the "big picture" to streamline activities. If you see a lack of strategy in patching or currency, you have the autonomy to design and implement the fix.
  • Technical Governance: Act as the Level 3 escalation point, ensuring solutions provided by partners are technically sound and aligned with the long-term roadmap.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Oversee OS/DB currency, cloud readiness, and capacity planning.
What You Bring
  • The "Proactive" Mindset: You don't wait for a problem to occur; you see the gap in the process and fix it before it breaks.
  • Vendor Management Mastery: Extensive experience managing large-scale SIs (System Integrators) and holding them accountable to delivery.
  • SAP Basis Depth: Senior level experience in SAP Technical/System Administration within complex, 24/7 environments.
  • Maturity & Influence: The ability to communicate technical complexity simply to senior stakeholders and lead an extended team of contractors and vendors.
  • Start Date: ASAP (to catch the start of the vendor transition)
