About the company:
Our client is a well-established Australian-owned and family-run food manufacturer with a strong reputation for producing quality food products across retail and foodservice markets. With a long-standing presence in the Australian market and a growing customer base, they are looking to add an experienced Customer Service Officer to their team.

About the role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Customer Service Officer will be responsible for managing customer orders and providing day-to-day support across customer service, logistics, warehouse and sales. This is a hands-on role where you'll act as an important link between customers and the wider business, ensuring orders are processed accurately, products are dispatched on time and any issues are resolved quickly.
The role operates Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.

Duties:
  • Receive, process and accurately record customer orders across phone, email, EDI and other channels.
  • Provide customers with information regarding product availability, pricing, delivery times and order status.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure customer orders are prepared and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Assist with transport and freight arrangements and follow up any delivery delays or issues.
  • Liaise with freight providers, warehouse teams and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery issues.
  • Monitor stock availability and work with the relevant teams to ensure orders can be fulfilled efficiently.
  • Communicate any special requirements or changes to orders with Production and Sales.
  • Respond to customer queries and complaints, working with Quality and other internal teams where required.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation relating to outgoing orders.
  • Maintain accurate order, POD and pallet information within Business Central.
  • Assist with customer invoicing and general administration.
  • Support the wider team with reception and front desk responsibilities when required.
Skills & Experience:
  • 3-5+ years' experience in Customer Service, ideally within FMCG, food manufacturing or a related environment.
  • Previous experience managing customer orders and working closely with warehouse, logistics and freight teams.
  • Strong understanding of order-to-dispatch processes and customer service within a supply chain environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems. Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, practical and team-oriented approach.
