About the role:
Reporting to the CEO, the role of Executive Director – Destination & Audience will be responsible for creating a captivating destination, weaving together a re-imagined Art Centre comprising Hamer Hall, Theatres building and Sidney Myer Music Bowl with unparalleled customer service, a delicious culinary experience, while ensuring it becomes the go-to place for friends to gather and enjoy. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the repositioning of ACM as a key destination and Melbourne tourism landmark through a brand refresh and the development and implementation of a Tourism Plan.
- Develop, implement and evaluate the strategies and profit & loss across ACM’s commercial functions including food and beverage, event hire, retail and car parking.
- Create and deliver a customer service environment of excellence across all ticketing, visitor experience and Front of House events.
- Lead all ACM audience engagement programs through the development and implementation of marketing strategies, designed to maximise attendance and revenue generation across all ACM performance and ancillary revenue streams.
- Identify, develop and implement short and long-term business development strategies and plans to increase self-generated revenue and maximise growth.
- Manage and oversee hospitality partner contracts and drive improved performance across ACM’s events and Food & Beverage offer.
- Lead, motivate and develop ACM customer service, commercial, marketing and communication teams to deliver departmental strategies, ensure staff are skilled and supported to achieve personal and organisational goals.
- As a member of ACM executive team, be a significant influencer of ACM’s strategic direction and provide high level analysis and input to the development of ACM’s Corporate, Business and overall programming plans.
- Liaise with key stakeholders including ACM Trust, State Government, and partners to strength ACM profile nationally and internationally.
About you:
- Extensive experience in the Hospitality sector with a track record of developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve key business outcomes and financial results.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in leading successful marketing and communications programs.
- Extensive leadership and management experience at an executive level, with demonstrated ability to inspire multi-skilled teams with a clear sense of direction to achieve high-quality results.
- High level of financial management skills and the ability to assess risk and ROI, with experience of managing significant revenue-generating activities.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with the capacity to interact effectively with a wide range of corporate executives, government officials, arts/creative professionals, senior management, staff, and contractors.
- Extensive networks in the corporate, media and cultural sectors will be essential to your success in this role.
