There are two Maintenance Supervisor positions available—one in the pallets and containers industry and the other in the FMCG sector. Both businesses are situated across the Western and Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Job Overview:
The company is currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance function. This role involves planning, scheduling, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and enhance overall productivity.
Responsibilities:
As the Maintenance Supervisor, your role is pivotal in overseeing the adherence to Safe Operating Procedures, upholding the business' Code of Conduct, and ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory requirements. You'll establish efficient networks with purchasing and supply personnel, develop and maintain a robust planning and scheduling routine for preventive maintenance, and coordinate projects to enhance machinery efficiency. Your leadership will drive the implementation of Best Practices, continuous improvement in quality, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency. Managing maintenance costs within budget, optimizing the CMMS applications, and providing support for plant Continuous Improvement projects are key aspects of your responsibilities. Additionally, you'll assist the maintenance crew with breakdown repairs, contributing to a high level of operational efficiency and equipment reliability.

- Contribute to maintaining ZERO HARM in the workplace.
- Compliance and action to audit outcomes.
- Standard Maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTBR, PR, Downtime/Reliability).
- Successful implementation and acceptance of best practices.
- Support compliance with R&M budget.
- Successful management of the inventory management system with minimal stock variance and ensuring required stock availability.
- Delivery of a Preventative Maintenance program in full and on time.
- Hold a current Australian Mechanical and/or Electrical trade certificate.
- Appropriate trade/tertiary qualifications.
- Extensive and continuous experience as a maintenance tradesman in a production environment.
- Experience in managing and working with contractors.
- Ability to work in a team environment and promote a planned maintenance culture.
- CMMS experience
- Thorough understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including 5'S, TPM & Root cause analysis.
