Business Performance Manager / Senior Commercial Manager plays crucial leadership role in the commercial finance team to ensure strong forecasting, controlling and monitoring of financials by business partnering with the Sales and Marketing teams as well as identifying opportunities to drive commercially beneficial outcomes in line with internal business ambition.
This role plays an active role in the organisation with financial analysis and planning, business cases and what if scenarios for decision making and best commercial outcome, provides insightful analysis and reporting of the performance.

Reporting to the CFO, this position has two direct reports (2 x Finance Analysts) and be responsible for:

Commercial Project & Business Cases:
  • Finance lead on commercial projects initiated by the sales and marketing teams - provide P&L to assess viability of the projects and estimate commercial outcome and recommend actions - i.e. pricing, channel expansion, pack strategy
  • Support Marketing with Net Sales and Profit estimate and scenarios for New Products for monthly meetings
  • Influence within the project to ensure commercially sound decisions consistent with the company objectives, including analysis and interpretation of the results and making recommendations to maximise financial results.
  • Development and review of business cases to support SKU rationalisation and efficiency programs to reduce costs, support the request of capital expenditure for plant extension to drive growth.
  • Ensure accuracy of the business cases and assumptions, scenario planning, best and worse case scenario
  • Support the business through RRP increases to ensure commercially sounds decision and best outcome to drive profitability and decrease in trade spend.
  • Identify opportunities for Net Sales and profit improvements, recommend and drive corrective actions
Forecast, budget & analysis:
  • Own the monthly reporting and forecasting cycle ensuring an accurate picture of business performance, drives, and risks and opportunities
  • Controlling actuals and reporting variances on Volume, Net Sales and Trade spend. Perform month end and influence business partners to take corrective actions where necessary
  • Manage the Budget, Quarterly and longer term planning cycles
  • Provide sound financial analysis to support decision making and company strategy
  • Manage monthly reporting requirements to key stakeholders, mid month reporting, ad hoc reports - Net Sales and P&L
  • Monitor and analyse promotional activity and impact on Net Sales and Profit and recommend corrective actions where necessary
Topline Support:
  • Supporting commercial and category team to deliver profitable revenue growth with analysis on current and what if scenarios - impact on Volume, Net Sales and Profit
  • Provide Sales and Marketing with promotional profitability by product and recommend best promotional plan to maximise Profit and Sales and decrease Trade Spend.
  • Lead promo efficiency monitoring on monthly basis including recommendations for improvement
    Provide analysis and recommendations for changes in promotional strategy and plan, shortterm and longterm

Strategic planning:
  • Finance lead for the development of the 5yr strategic plan
  • Work with other functions to estimate Volume and Net Sales, COGS and other lines of the P&L
    Prepare 5yr P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
