Forming part of an established and robust team, the Lead Data Scientist is a newly created role, requiring someone to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop predictive and prescriptive models. Reporting to the CTO, you will also be responsible in developing, maintaining, and expanding the Data and Analytics platform to provide enriched information for reporting and analysis to help drive growth.  

As a key member of the team, you will lead the development of data capabilities. Working closely with the CTO and wider technology team, you will be required to uncover actionable insights, and drive date-based recommendations.

Day-to-day responsibilities will also include:
 
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques to large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement across core business functions including finance, manufacturing, sales & procurement.
  • Design and implement machine learning data models to solve business problems and enhance insights & decision-making processes through predictive solutions.
  • Establish and lead a community of practice to drive data standardisation, quality, and automation of enterprise analytics.
  • Develop data science competencies and act as a key advocate for data literacy across the company.
  • Develop and manage self-service reporting and analytics capabilities to drive efficiency, and higher quality data standards in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative and appealing, static, and interactive data visualisations featured on user-friendly reports and dashboards in ThoughtSpot and Cognos BI
  • Communicate complex findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to gather, preprocess, and analyse structured and unstructured data.
  • Build data models of clean, accurate and meaningful information that represent meaningful insights to drive strategic objectives.

For your application to be successful, you will have experience and an advanced knowledge of data warehouse technologies including ETL and cloud services such as Microsoft Asure Synapse, SQL, Data Factory. You will be an experienced Data Scientist with experience developing in a BI environment, and have experience with machine learning and scripting languages, particularly Python.
