We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our esteemed global biomedical client, located in North Melbourne. This position is specifically focused on (Clean Utilities) with a primary emphasis on Water Systems.

As a Utilities Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various utility projects within the client’s organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of utility infrastructure projects, while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Duties:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for utility infrastructure projects.
- Conduct thorough feasibility studies and site assessments to determine the viability and potential risks associated with proposed projects.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including utility providers, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
- Oversee the design and engineering processes, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, resolving any technical challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source and evaluate vendors and suppliers for project materials and equipment.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to utility infrastructure projects.
About you
This is an initial contract role (12 months in duration) with a chance of becoming made permanent or extended so we're looking for someone with the following:
- The ability to commit to a 12-month contract period.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience (preferably 5+ years) as a Utilities Project Engineer preferably in the pharmaceutical industry and with related role type experience as well.
- Tertiary Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical).
