Note: This role is based in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and will require you to be onsite 3-4 days a week. The Opportunity:
 
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be the SME and trusted partner when it comes to project inception through to delivery. You will play a key role in Business Case development, project prioritisation and Return on Investment.

You will be a key contributor to helping the organisation uplift its business analysis competency and capability by sharing and driving best practices. You will be proactive and motivated by improving the efficiency and predictability of the IT delivery capability within the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of IT Project Delivery, you will define scope, requirements, project plans, identify processes improvements, lead and support Change Management and ensure delivered outcomes resolve the right problem.

About the role:


You will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Project delivery
  • Work with the PMO to shape new engagements from the business and support business case development.
  • Define, analyse and document current and future state business processes using standards such as BPMN, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Gather, analyse and document features, epics and user stories and support Delivery Leads and Engineers in sizing and scoping activities.
  • Work closely with Architects, Engineers, Capability Leads and business stakeholders and assist in the design and execution of test cases and scenarios to ensure solutions are deployed with confidence.
  • Manage projects in Jira. Capture and maintain project artefacts, test scripts and TSRs and project documentation within Confluence.
  • Support and lead backlog grooming and sprint planning activities along with Delivery Leads, Engineering and other Infrastructure and Application teams.
  • Support handover and training for Operations Teams via demos, showcases and project documentation (end-user documentation and relevant technical support guides).
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise between technical teams, non-technical business stakeholders, vendors and contract resources.
  • Support business change management activities such as end user comms, user acceptance testing, user training/demos and user guides/documentation.
  • Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders and perform walkthroughs with project team members.
  • Run showcases/demos and townhall style presentations effectively for non-technical audiences.
  • Prepare and present reports detailing project status, risks, and outcomes at Scrum of Scrum and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Some ad-hoc travel around Victoria as well as some interstate travel may be required
About you:

To be considered for this role, you will need (but not limited to) the following:
  • Consultative and open minded, with superb communication, presentation, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Expert proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation skills using a variety of tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while always keeping sight of priorities.
  • Strong accountability and ownership for complex pieces of work, including the ability to work autonomously and pro-actively.
  • Experience working in the construction or building supplies retail industry is not necessary but will be looked upon very favourably.
