The Organisation
Australia's leading provider of animal nutrition products. It is a really large business, employing 650 employees across 20 sites. The business works with and manufactures feeds covering a wide range of species including cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, equine, companion animals (dogs and cats etc.).
 
The Opportunity
As a Site Manager you will be leading the daily operations for the Tamworth Milling Site. The site has 16 headcount that are rostered across 2 shifts. 
 
The Opportunity
As a Site Manager, you will responsible for leading the daily production activities across the entire manufacturing facility.  You will have 4 direct reports including a Production Manager, Production Scheduler and two Admin Officers. The site sells bulk animal feed directly to local clients as well as packaged 20kg bags which are distributed afar.
  • Manage all costs within the site budget.
  • Ensure all site product targets are met including efficient manufacturing of finished goods on time and in full.
  • Customer service, responding to customer enquiries and complaint handling.
  • Ensure a safe workplace for all employees.
  • Support, direct and develop site staff into an effective and reliable team.

Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' previous experience in a leadership role, ideally in the manufacturing industry.
  • A practical understanding of lean principles and demonstrated examples of planning and implementing a continuous improvement plan.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing employees in a production environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to talk to lots of different people from varying levels within the organisation.
  • Strong computer skills and exposure to software systems like an ERP.
