We are currently working with a business in the retail sector who are undergoing a huge growth phase, and are looking to bring on a hands-on and people orientated Transport Operations Manager to their team. They are renowned for working with local businesses and providing them with the opportunity to succeed and have proudly done so now for over 100 years.
The role:
Working as the Transport Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in helping to execute freight strategies, whilst collaborating with the National Transport Manager to execute efficient operations, including route optimization and transport consolidation. From contract management to risk mitigation, your expertise will ensure the best pricing and service from freight carriers. Monitor costs, manage inventory, and oversee 3PL carrier operations to guarantee seamless order fulfillment. Uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance, fostering a secure working environment for all stakeholders. Lead and develop our primary freight teams while efficiently managing administrative tasks.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone with a background in either retail or 3PL, who has experience in executing operations, leading a team and can thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. You will need strong stakeholder management skills and to have worked in freight/distribution & logistics previously.
