The Organisation
You will be working for a large multinational organisation that operate within the FMCG sector who are based in the Eastern Suburbs. The organisation has some very ambitious growth plans, which make it an opportune time to get on board.
The Opportunity
Following a recent restructure within the organisation a new opportunity has been created to support the Procurement Manager for Indirects as Procurement Specialist. The restructure has meant the ability to manage indirect spend, up until recently this had been done by internal stakeholders within the business. This means that this opportunity presents itself as one that is relatively greenfield in operation and would provide the right candidate with a real ability to deliver huge value for the business to really excel your career.
This is not a specialist level position where you would be supporting parts of the tender process and leaving the higher spend/risk projects to be delivered by the Procurement Manager. In this role you will be actively encouraged to lead projects from conception and market analysis through to contract implementation and management.
Skills and Experience Required
This role is really one that someone with a solid grounding and understanding of the basics of procurement will benefit from, the exposure and experience you will gain from being given the opportunity to lead on some very large projects is second to none. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in a procurement role, one that has taught them solid principles, policies, and procedures to follow, as a certain level of autonomy will be required in this position. You will be responsible for managing the procurement process from end-to-end, hence why those principles are key. Experience from within the FMCG industry would be beneficial however it is not mandatory for this role, what would be ideal is experience leading indirect procurement activity.
