The Organisation
You will be working for a Melbourne based organisation who have a large procurement function that are currently in the process of going through a period of change and transformation.
The Opportunity
Following the promotion of an internal candidate a new opportunity has arisen to lead the IT Procurement category as Procurement Manager. This position will be responsible for managing an IT procurement Category Manager with full autonomy for the strategic management of the category. Given the organisation is currently undergoing a period of transformation, software has and is playing a huge role in this, there is a lot of scope for further development in this space.
Anyone that has a real passion for procurement excellence, who is keen to help the organisation further carve out their policies, processes, and strategy to help make the function one that is best in class.

Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IT procurement within an organisation that have a well-established procurement function. This is key because this role will require someone that has extensive knowledge of procurement, policies, and procedures, given this position will have autonomy of IT spend. You will be responsible large high-profile tenders, and strategic work, as well as a Category Manager who will be delivering high volumes of tender and contract activity. Experience from any ASX or Blue-Chip organisations would be beneficial however it is not mandatory for this role, what would be ideal is experience leading IT Procurement as a manager or a sole contributor with experience starting from within a greenfield environment.
