About the Company:
Our client is a food manufacturer based in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, who are looking for a Demand Planner who can hit the ground running. With goods being imported and some local manufacturing, they are looking for a Demand Planner with previous FMCG experience and can work in a fast paced environment.
About the Role:
The Demand Planner is responsible for engaging in a variety of tasks such as creating and maintaining forecast models of sales, as well as incorporating business intelligence and forecasting information gathered from other areas such as marketing, finance, new product development, and supply. The demand planner will lead the discussion during each month for meeting customer demand with their counterparts in the organization. They will also be responsible for liaising with the clients Global Manufacturing Partners to ensure the product is available and shipped to meet their ANZ demand requirements. You will inform their partners of their demand requirements and collaborate with them to reduce the risk of supply and costs for the company.

The demand planner will lead the discussion during each month for meeting customer demand with their counterparts in the organization. They will also be responsible for liaising with the clients Global Manufacturing Partners to ensure the product is available and shipped to meet their ANZ demand requirements. You will inform their partners of their demand requirements and collaborate with them to reduce the risk of supply and costs for the company.
Key Duties:
- Manage demand forecasting process for ANZ by utilizing forecasting tools and ensure statistical forecast is reflected with recent sales trend and identify abnormal demand to validate most-likely baseline demand.
- Participate and provide any inputs to Portfolio Management Review and ensure that outputs from PMR are reflected in Forecast Review and Demand Review.
- Facilitate monthly Forecast Review process (pre-Demand Review) collaborating with the sales team to incorporate market intel into demand plan enable to capture promotional activities, portfolio phasing and opportunities.
- Investigate variances between demand forecasts and actual results to seek continual improvement. Champion, challenge and drive the monthly Demand Review as part of IBP process.
- Analise inventory data and manage SLOB process with the commercial team to minimize the excess stock level and clear obsolete stock in a timely manner.
- Manage stock allocation process when supply is constrained.
- Validate data in the planning system daily/weekly to provide data accuracy to the business.
- Identify system issues and work with consultants to find a solution as well as to enhance system functionality.
- Provide adequate system training to stakeholders.
- Conduct ad-hoc business analysis as required.
- Collaborate with the supply manager and the inventory manager to ensure DRP mapping is up-to date, and stock level is optimized in DC level to meet DIF target.
- Participate in the budget process and ensure aligned assumptions and strategy plans are in and load into the system
