About the Role

The Regional Transport Manager is a high-profile leadership role responsible for delivering a high level of customer service while maintaining a safe working environment and contributing to broader organisational strategy and profitability targets. The Regional Transport Manager creates and fosters a high performing team culture and a values-driven approach to work. Specific accountabilities include:
  • Leading 2 direct reports and a large, indirect and wholly subcontracted driver pool across the region.
  • Delivering on the safe performance of drivers & fleet, including Chain of Responsibility compliance.
  • Ensuring the highest possible level of customer service in the region through tight collaboration with allocations and regional sales functions.
  • Oversee fleet configuration to meet demand, manage business risk, optimise logistic efficiency and meet targets relating to decarbonisation.
The Regional Transport Manager ensures that their business is appropriately resourced from a personnel and equipment perspective and also has a level of budgetary responsibility for their business, so is responsible for financial forecasting, budget preparation and cost reduction initiatives.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced transport professional with well-rounded commercial accumen. Ideally from the industrial services or a relevant 3rd party logistics sector, you will have demonstrated leadership skills and exceptional influencing and negotiating skills. Your safety, compliance and customer-centric focus and the ability to energise and get the best out of your people will be the key to your success in this role.
