Our client is one of Australia's most recognised brands with one of the largest and most complex supply chain networks in the country. We are excited to partner with them exclusively and bring to market a newly created role of Head of DC Desgin & Network Development based in Sydney.

The role reports to the General Manager of Network Development & Strategy and is pivotal in shaping the future of a world-class supply chain by leading the design and solutioning of new DCs to support business growth and deliver for the millions of customers they serve. The Head of Network Development will oversee the development of the supply chain infrastructure, from strategy and concept through to Board approval -  looking at what the needs of the business are, where sites need to be, and decide what the right solution to deliver a scalable, resilient, and future-proofed supply chain network. 

Success profile: We are looking for someone with extensive experience in Network Solutions and Design from a large-scale (matrix) business background with an impressive portfolio of sizeable CAPEX DC infrastructure projects. You will likely come from Retail, FMCG, 3PL/3PL, Pharma/MedTech and/or Consulting but will consider other industries. You will have the commercial, operational and strategic acumen that allows you to grasp the complexity of proposed solutions and making informed decisions that delivers the right solutions for the supply chain network. There are three critical components we are looking for:
  • Technical capability to solve complex problems in the right way – solutions focused, critical thinker, and the ability to look through the lens of operations
  • Navigate & Influence outcomes through the complexity of a matrix business  – EQ, soft-skills, personality to be seen as a thought leader and expert in their space
  • Effective Communicator who can adapt style and approach to their audience – be able to sell a solution, bring people on the journey and work in partnership to deliver the right outcomes
