Role Purpose:
As the Financial Accountant, you play a pivotal role in the financial management of the organisation. Your duties span coordinating the month-end close process, completing monthly reconciliations, managing financial reporting, and contributing to the overall management of the company's financial affairs. Your involvement is crucial in supporting operational departments through month-end reviews, variance analysis, and providing ad hoc reporting.
 
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
  • Coordinating the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial statements.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, receivables, payables, and accruals.
  • Preparation and delivery of the monthly Management Reporting Pack for all entities.
  • Monthly departmental reviews to ensure expenditure aligns with budget expectations.
  • Reconciliation and lodgement of Sales Tax, VAT, and GST Returns.
  • Inventory management, reconciliation, and monitoring of aged purchase orders.
  • Ownership of the Capital Expenditure process, including maintaining a fixed asset register.
  • Reconciliation of payment gateways and investigation of discrepancies.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Providing ad hoc reporting, financial support, and data-driven insights.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • General Ledger and ERP maintenance.

Key Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
  • 5+ years' experience in a financial accountant position.
  • Sound decision-making skills based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Results-oriented and metrics-driven.
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
