Are you an experienced project leader with a passion for automation and end-to-end delivery? Join a landmark supply chain transformation and take the lead on a fully automated Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) project in Melbourne.

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract with a highly regarded national retailer, offering the chance to work with world-class automation technology and play a critical role in shaping the future of fulfilment operations.

About the Role As Senior Project Manager – Automation, you’ll be responsible for managing the automation stream of a major CFC build—from installation through to commissioning and operational handover. You’ll partner closely with internal stakeholders and global automation vendors to deliver a high-performing, future-ready site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, delivery, and commissioning of advanced automation systems within a new CFC
  • Manage end-to-end coordination with internal teams and automation vendors
  • Oversee contract compliance, supplier performance, and key milestone delivery
  • Drive system testing, defect resolution, and readiness for go-live
  • Report on project progress, risks, costs, and key dependencies
  • Ensure integration with wider property and supply chain project streams
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience delivering complex automation projects (CFC, DC, or similar environments)
  • Strong background in working with business-in-class automation vendors (e.g. KNAPP, Swisslog, Dematic, Vanderlande, Witron)
  • Solid understanding of commissioning, testing, and operational transition of automated systems
  • Confident managing contracts and external suppliers
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Willingness to be site-based in Melbourne during critical delivery phases
