The Opportunity
The Operations Manager and their team are the foundation on which the growth of the business will be built. They will be an enabler of sales growth and consistently deliver a first-class customer experience while balancing service with profitability, organisational capacity and capability.
Specifically, you’ll be tasked with:
  • Identifying opportunities and finding solutions to ‘make it work’ for both customer and carrier, enabling sales growth as a result.
  • Establishing systems, processes and ways of working that are clear, standardised, practical and scalable.
  • Leading initiatives relating to improved usage of enterprise systems, unlocking their potential and delivering further value to the organisation.
  • Working collaboratively with Sales function to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new customers and carriers.
  • Analysing and understanding cost-to-serve across customers, lanes and carriers and making recommendations to the business around smarter, more commercially beneficial ways of working.
  • Creating a team culture centred around service delivery, problem solving and accountability, and underpinned by a ‘can do’ attitude.
 
What You Bring
  • Extensive experience in the transport & logistics industry, ideally from the 4PL or Freight Brokerage sector.
  • Natural analytical and problem-solving ability, coupled with the ability to remain calm under pressure when juggling competing priorities.
  • A high level of customer centricity and a warm, approachable style.
  • Strong people leadership qualities and a track record of professional success in SME environments.
