About the Roles

Our client is seeking x2 DC Team Leads to support operations at their new Ravenhall distribution centre.

Available shifts:
  • Dispatch Team Lead (Afternoon Shift): 12:00pm to 8:00pm, 12 staff
  • DC Team Lead (Day Shift): Flexible start between 7:00am and 9:00am (8-hour shift)
These are newly created roles within a greenfield site. The first six months will be hands-on, focused on warehouse setup, onboarding, training, and embedding ways of working.
The Day Shift Team Lead will operate across both inwards and dispatch, providing end-to-end operational support, while the Afternoon Team Lead will have a stronger focus on dispatch.

Purpose
  • Ensure smooth execution of all DC operations, including stock movement, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Support workforce planning and daily resource allocation.
  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff.
  • Maintain accurate system and administrative processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
  • Lead and support team members to deliver safe and efficient operations.
  • Monitor performance and provide regular feedback.
  • Train and upskill staff in line with operational processes.
  • Manage permanent and casual labour requirements.
  • Build a positive, accountable team culture.
Distribution Centre Operations
  • Oversee stock movement, receipting, putaway, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Support layout, storage, and workflow planning to optimise efficiency.
  • Minimise risk of damage, loss, or delays through strong process control.
  • Liaise with third-party providers where required.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency initiatives.
Leadership Team Contribution
  • Support the DC Operations Manager with day-to-day operations.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and operational decision-making.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and site initiatives.
Health & Safety
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture.
  • Lead toolbox talks and ensure compliance across the team.
  • Report incidents and hazards accurately.
  • Support implementation of corrective actions.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, or distribution environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams on the floor.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of warehouse operations and processes.
Desirable:
  • Experience in a greenfield or start-up environment.
  • Exposure to both inwards and dispatch functions.
  • SAP WMS experience.
