Our client is a well-established organisation with a strong national presence, providing specialist services to businesses across multiple industries. Due to an increase in activity and workload, they are seeking additional support within their finance team to ensure business as usual continues during a busy period.
About the Role
This position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne and have a flexible working model (3 Days a week in the office)
Key Responsibilities:
The Accountant will play a central role in a busy finance team, managing all aspects of general accounting and financial activities. Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements, reports, and cash flow forecasts, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with tax and governance obligations, and supporting payroll. The role also involves assisting teams with financial management, maintaining internal controls, contributing to process improvements, and providing actionable insights to support business decisions and organisational growth.
About You
We are looking for a proactive Accountant with at least four years’ experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, who is happy to handle transactional work while also acting as 2IC to the Finance Manager and providing backup support as needed. You will hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, be CPA/CA part or newly qualified, and ideally have BAS Agent certification. You’re highly skilled in Excel and experienced with MYOB and other ERP systems. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication are essential, along with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You are adaptable, maintain discretion and integrity, and can step in to cover the Finance Manager when required.
