Our client is a well-established national transport and courier organisation specialising in same-day and overnight distribution of bulky freight and e-commerce deliveries across Australia. With a strong reputation in the market and ambitious growth plans, the business is continuing to invest in its operational capability and leadership team.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Depot Manager to lead a busy Brisbane operation responsible for inbound linehaul, freight sortation, and last mile distribution across Queensland and Northern NSW.

This role will suit a hands-on operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and enjoys leading teams on the floor while driving operational performance.

The Role

Reporting to the State Manager, the Depot Manager will take responsibility for the efficient operation of a high-volume depot, ensuring freight is processed safely, accurately and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee all inbound linehaul, freight sorting and outbound dispatch operations
  • Lead and develop shift leaders, supervisors and operational teams
  • Manage depot throughput, scanning compliance, POD accuracy and service performance
  • Coordinate with regional agents across Queensland and Northern NSW
  • Ensure WHS compliance across forklift operations, freight handling and site safety
  • Manage depot-level budgets including labour, contractors and operational spend
  • Drive operational improvements, engagement and accountability across the site
  • Support ongoing change initiatives and operational upgrades, including future automation improvements
About You

We are seeking an experienced logistics leader with strong operational credibility and the ability to motivate and develop teams in a high-volume environment.
You will ideally bring:
  • Proven leadership experience within transport, courier, parcel or distribution operations
  • Strong understanding of linehaul networks, depot operations and last mile delivery
  • Experience working in high-volume freight environments, including bulky freight or e-commerce distribution
  • Exposure to sortation or conveyor systems within logistics facilities
  • Strong WHS knowledge within warehouse or transport operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, build team engagement and improve operational performance
  • A hands-on leadership style with the confidence to manage operational challenges and drive accountability
Candidates from organisations such as courier, parcel, express freight or high-volume transport operations will be highly regarded.
