This is an amazing opportunity to join a highly-regarded organisation as they embark a large-scale transformation program. The business is rebuilding its entire data environment from the ground up, moving away from a fragmented, legacy setup to a modern, scalable platform on Databricks (Azure), with a broader multi-cloud approach.
You’ll step in to lead the data stream end-to-end, shaping how data is structured, governed and used across the business. There’s real upside in areas like trade analytics, where better use of data could unlock significant commercial value.
What you’ll be doing
  • Lead the build of a new enterprise data platform (Databricks on Azure), including data migration, integration, and overall architecture
  • Define and prioritise use cases, breaking them into deliverable chunks that show value early and often
  • Establish data hierarchies, governance frameworks, and standards across a complex, multi-business environment
  • Drive the rollout of PIM and broader data capabilities as part of the wider transformation
  • Push the use of AI and automation to improve how the business operates, not just as a concept but in practice
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, translating technical direction into clear business outcomes
  • Challenge legacy thinking and lift the overall maturity of the data function
What they’re looking for
  • Strong Databricks experience, ideally having implemented it in a complex environment
  • Background in data engineering or platform delivery, comfortable across the full lifecycle
  • Experience with data migration, integration, and modern data stacks (EDP/PIM exposure is a must)
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, MLOps, and FinOps in a data context
  • Exposure to AI-driven use cases and how data platforms support them
  • Able to operate at both strategy and delivery level without overcomplicating things
  • Confident engaging senior stakeholders and pushing back when needed
