About our Client
Our Client is a successful privately held organisation that operates several vineyards in the vibrant Sunraysia region of Australia. The business plays a significant role in regional and national production volumes, supplying bulk product into major export markets while also producing its own premium brands for local consumption.
About the Opportunity
The Operations Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the performance of a large and complex vineyard operation, a seasonally fluctuating team and the full lifecycle of activity from planting through to vintage.
The role is focused on the effective execution of established operational and commercial plans, ensuring all vineyard activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with industry standard. A critical component of the position is the ongoing performance and reliability of a large-scale irrigation system which underpins the success of the operation.
Leading a core team of 11 staff (which increases to approximately 30 during peak periods) the role will focus on building a strong team culture focused on safety, accountability, quality and high performance.
The Operations Manager is a high-profile position that will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, optimise performance and support the ongoing evolution of the vineyard.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced farm operations leader with a background in large-scale primary production environments such as horticulture, viticulture or fresh produce.
You will bring strong people leadership capability, drive accountability and lead teams through steady-state operations and peak periods alike.
Operationally focused, you will demonstrate a proven ability to execute plans effectively at scale, while also identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and strengthen overall performance.
