About our Client              
Our Client is a large national FMCG manufacturer and a leader in their industry. They service major retail organisations and B2B customers alike and are currently experiencing significant growth. As a result of this expansion, they currently have an amazing opportunity available for an experienced logistics professional in the capacity of ‘Group Leader: Warehousing & Logistics’ based at their regional Victorian manufacturing facility.
 
About the Opportunity
A newly created leadership role reporting to GM-level, the ‘Group Leader: Warehousing & Logistics’ will take ownership of all site-based logistics activities with a particular focus on warehousing.
Responsible for leading a team of up to 90, your function will be responsible for overseeing the receipting, storage and staging of product (for further processing) as well as the packing, palletisation and staging (for dispatch) of finished goods, in a 3-shift, 5-day per week operation.
Key deliverables include strengthening site safety culture and processes, improving inventory accuracy and introducing greater discipline around site-based performance metrics.
A further priority will be effective resource planning in an environment with a large, diverse and dynamic workforce, while continuing to uplift capability and ensure continuity of operations in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
 
The Successful Candidate
An experienced logistics leader with a background in high-volume, fast-paced distribution or warehousing environments, where operational complexity and service expectations are high.
Experience servicing major retail customers is highly regarded, particularly within environments that operate to tight DIFOT measures and strict compliance standards.
Exposure to cold chain or temperature-controlled logistics would also be advantageous.
Demonstrated capability in warehousing or site-based logistics functions, ideally across multi-shift operations, with a strong understanding of inventory, storage and dispatch processes.
