NSW Service Manager

Six Degrees have teamed up with an established Euquipment and Hardware Manufacturing business to recruit an experienced State Service Manager to lead its NSW and ACT operations, managing a field service division of technicians, team leaders, and support staff.
 
This is a high-impact operational leadership role focused on people leadership, customer experience, performance management, and continuous improvement. Reporting into the National Service Manager, you will oversee day-to-day service delivery while driving engagement, accountability, and operational performance across a large mobile workforce.
 
The role is primarily office-based in South West Sydney, with occasional travel to customer sites and field operations.


Key responsibilities:
 
  • Lead and manage a large field service team across NSW and ACT
  • Drive team engagement, accountability, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Manage operational performance across KPIs including response times, utilisation, productivity, and first-time fix rates
  • Support and develop Team Leaders and frontline leadership capability
  • Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and technician performance management
  • Manage service operations in line with revenue and profitability targets
  • Support rollout of process improvement and operational transformation initiatives
  • Ensure compliance across safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve service delivery and customer outcomes


About you:
 
  • Proven experience leading large service or field-based teams
  • Strong operational leadership and people management capability
  • Experience managing performance, engagement, and customer escalations in fast-paced environments
  • Commercially minded with exposure to budgets, revenue targets, and operational KPIs
  • Confident communicator with the ability to lead experienced team leaders and technicians
  • Trade or engineering background preferred (electrical, refrigeration, plumbing or similar)
  • Able to operate autonomously and drive outcomes in a complex service environment
